John Tenta vs. The Gladiator Mike Awesome The action quickly spilled out of the ring, where Awesome throttled Tenta with a chair. Tenta rolled back into the, only to be met with a GLADIATOR POWERBOMB. Awesome pinned Tenta to become the first Grand Prix Champion.

SUPER JUNIORS CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
Dynamite Kid vs. Black Tiger Dynamite controlled the early going until Black Tiger threw Dyanmite from the top turnbuckle as Dynamite was preparing to deliver a high risk move. Black Tiger took the action to Dynamite and delivered several TOMBSTONE PILEDRIVERS but could not put Dynamite away. Both men continued to batter each other with high impact moves. Dynamite sensed the end was near after catching Black Tiger with an incredible neck breaking clothesline as Black Tiger bounced off the turnbuckle. Dynamite delivered a FLYING HEADBUTT and pinned Black Tiger to become the first Super Juniors Champion.

GRAND PRIX TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL
British Bulldogs (Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid) vs. Mr. Fuji and Masa Saito vs. Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody The Bulldogs didn’t waste any time in this match. After taking out Fuji and Saito the Bulldogs delivered a GORILLA PRESS HEADBUTT to a downed Brody. Smith pinned Brody while Dynamite kept Hansen from breaking up the pin. Fuji stumbled back into the ring, where Smith delivered a RUNNING POWERSLAM and pinned Fuji to win the title.

The tag final was rediculous. The dice really wanted the Bulldogs to win the tag titles and without wasting any time.

Tenta vs. Awesome would not have been the finals I would have thought when I saw the orignal pairings.

I was actually shocked that of all the tournament finals in each division there was only one representative from Japan.
