Today's booking was done by yours truly based off of yesterday's happenings and again played by myself and Jacob. so, w/o further ado, here we go!!
Chikara #2, by Jacob and Jerod
#1: The Throwbacks v Los Ice Creams
Two teams trying to win that ever elusive 3 in a row vied for dominance tonight. Sugar Dunkerton showed he is a big enough man to carry his team, and that is just what he did, dispatching both Ice Creams so handily that Dasher Hatfield mostly just ran interference to prevent any pin saves. Ice Cream Jr started and got dribbled around the ring before making a hasty escape to El Hijo Del Ice Cream who (if possible) fared even worse, finally falling prey to Air Dunkerton and putting mercifully to rest this tag-team debacle.
#2: Sara Del Rey/Daizee Haze v Chuck Taylor/Icarus
Due to the F.I.S.T. shennanigans on the last card, these 2 feisty ladies demanded them in the ring. A good early showing by both teams with quick tags and Del Rey showcasing her overwhelming power advantage over both men. A sudden reversal by Chuck Taylor and a quick tag in to Icarus unnoticed by SDR spelled the end, as Icarus hit 2 Blu-Rays for the pin as Chuck Taylor headed off Haze.
Following the match, Gargano joined his similar-tighted friends and looked to take some liberties with outnumbered women. Suddenly Fire Ant and Soldier Ant came down swinging chairs to send the F.I.S.T boys running. The ladies did NOT seem especially appreciative of the chivalrous Colony and heated words were exchanged as the 2 teams left the ring separately.
3: BATTLE FOR THE BOARD: Grizzly Redwood v Eddie Kingston (w/ Jim Duggan)
A match-up that would decide the fate of Hacksaw's broken board was a hard hitting affair, with both men showcasing the early match with their talents. Apparently Kingston has more as he continued showcasing for a LOT longer. Mini Paul Bunyon seemed to fall prey to the size advantage of Kingston (now THERE is an uncommon phrase) and the distraction value of Jim Duggan at ringside who kept leading the crowd in chants of USA USA, apparently unaware that both men are citizens. However, Grizzly proved to have the heart of a Bear, and virtually impossible to chop down to...size. Surviving not 1, not 2, but 3 Backfists to the Future AND a Tombstone Piledriver, before an out of the ring brawl and paying more attention to Duggan (Redwood did not know he wsa only in the sight of Duggan's lazy eye, Duggan was in truth checking out the hot little blonde in the front row with short skirt and nothing underneath, but it's an easy mistake to make, so we won't fault him) left Redwood easy prey for the Sliding D for the win.
After the match, while Duggan celebrated with Kingston, Redwood snuck in and grabbed the pile of sticks again. By the time Duggan and Kingston realized, Grizzly was backstage and talking over the video screens. He challenged Kingston to a rematch, the sticks against Duggan's career. Kingston refused, but he and Duggan could be seen discussing it as they left the ring.
Backstage segments:
Claudio Castagnoli is seen talking with the ladies of BDK and informed the cameraman that the Colony had NO right sticking their noses in the girls business, that the girls had things well in hand and would have taken out all 3 F.I.S.T. members if not for the interference of the Colony. He proceeded to demand a match for the ladies against the Colony next show. He then patted a manilla folder he had been carrying and mentioned that Jigsaw best not back out on their "little wager".
The cameras caught up with Kevin Steen and El Generico apparently arguing, with Generico saying that he didn't need Steen's help with Danielson, and that he had only reacted by reflex and he would never do that to Danielson. Steen told him to shut up and not be such a **(censored)**, that Steen had made him great before and was just trying to do it again. Bryan Danielson appeared and got in the face of Steen, who kept looking to Generico, who simply folded his arms and watched. Realizing no help was forthcoming, Steen decided discretion to be the better part of valour and beat a hasty retreat. Danielson and Geneico faced off, when Generico finally apologized and offered his hand. Danielson looked torn between accepting and decking him, but finally took the hand and Generico turned to go. As the cameras followed Generico, a loud metallic smack was heard and Danielson came flying into the camera range, just as Generico turned around in time to have Danielson crash right through him, laying him out cold. Danielson, holding the back of his head, got up and looked around confused, before registering Generico at his feet and calling for assistance.
#4: Jigsaw v UltraMantis Black
In the continuing drama of good Delirious/bad Delirious, Sky Low Low named him to be the special referee. This rematch was requested by Jigsaw after the confusing outcome of yesterday's match-up. Delirious showed up in his white mask to the excitement and cheers of the crowd and the concern of Black. Despite seeming friendlier to Jigsaw than Black, Delirious called a fair match. Both the masked men tore into each other with abandon, with both gaining an early near-fall. After that, the match was fairly back and forth until it went outside the ring. Jigsaw went to assault Black, but Delirious prevented him from swinging a chair, leading to a brief exchange of words. That brief exchange afforded Black the opportunity to land a Cosmic Disaster on Jigsaw for the win.
After the match, Jigsaw and Delirious stared down for several seconds before Jigsaw turned to walk to the back. He got about 1/2 way up the ramp when the Batiri stormed out of the crowd and leveled him with chairs. Delirious seemed ready to come to his rescue, but was caught by the arm by UltraMantis Black and seemed to cow to his wishes. Finally Mike Quackenbush ran out with a chair as the Batiri disappeared back into the crowd. Jigsaw seemed shaken, but relatively unharmed as he and Quack issued a challenge to meet them in the ring next show.
5: Brodie Lee v Tursas
Installation 2 of the battle of the big men was every bit as hard hitting and intense as the first. I am beginning to think whoever pulls the ref duty for these 2 has the easiest night of the whole staff. Apparently the officiating staff has been told to just let them go and stay out of the way, and so they did. Lee and Tursas cut a swath through the ringside area, only popping back into the ring to occasionally check the time left on the match. Tursas is one tough SOB, period. He survived 5 of the Brodie Boots and STILL managed to take the action back outside the ring. While Brodie would dominate on their brief soiree's into the ring, the 2 men were locked dead even outside it. Finally after nearly 20 minutes of all out brawling (and almost a full 4 or 5 of that inside the ring), Brodie slammed Tursas through a second ringside table... and the referee actually disqualified him. Brodie stood there in disbelief for just a moment and that was all the time the referee needed to sprint up the ramp, with an irate Lee not too far behind...
That concludes today's Chikara madness from the Rickert family!!!
