Decided that will be doing these as a series here and there. Just fun matches that I personally want to run. No story lines, no rhyme or reason, just cuz, lol. So, here we go...
#1: Tommy Angel def Spaceman Hickey.
In the battle of perennial under-dogs, Tommy proved he was (barely) more than just another pretty face, putting away the Spaceman with the high cross bodyblock.
#2: Tiger Mask def Dynamite Kid.
Simply incredible. I swear these tear up my LOW ring the way they used to tear up my TV. Back and forth action at it's finest, both men hitting their finishers, high spots outside the ring, 11 combined PIN tokens, near-falls and a controversial ending... What more could we ask for? Dynamite looked as though he might be en route to victory when he missed a deathjump to the outside. Tiger Mask hit a nasty-sick dive onto DK that left both men down and struggling to get back to the ring. Tiger Mask was able to sink in a THIRD Tiger Suplex and DK just couldn't find the answer. Although video replays showed that DK's left foot was out of the ropes when the 3 count was made, the referees decision was left to stand.
#3: The Briscoes def The Midnight Express by DQ
Well, not much to be said. The Briscoes came out strong, the Midnights with great defensive tags, the Briscoes regain the advantage, Jim Cornette swings racket, ref calls match. LOL, soooooooo, this one might get rematched next time and we will send Corney to his momma's
4: Brock Lesnar def Terrible Ted by dq.
And in one of the most heart-warming moments of the night, Brock Lesnar was declared the winner after the bear just simply tried to bite off Lesnar's arm. Luckily for Brock Ted appeared to not care for him any more than I do, and released his arm relatively quickly and without long term damage.
5. June Byers def Fabulous Moolah.
In one of the absolute BEST women's matches i have ever rolled, Byers was finally able to put the Fabulous One down with a 4th Byers Bridge. Combined for 13 PIN tokens, almost 25 minutes real time to roll it out.
6: Dogs of War and Miracle Violence Connection brawl to a double DQ.
I know, I know... It completely shocked me too. These 4 men, losing their coll and ending up with a double dq... who'd a thunk it? All kidding aside,an absolute donnybrook of a match. These 4 guys, just went out and put on a showcase in toughness. Only a combined 7 PIN tokens before going to the outside a second time where all 4 men decided to ignore the referee and just kept fighting.
7: LOD def Demolition.
Well, the first real dud of the card. Demos come out... LOD rush ring... Hawk and Smash start match... Hawk hits 3 moves, then gets Doomsday Device... Ax fails to make save... Next?
8: The Great Gama and Frank Gotch wrestle to 20 minute TLD
Ho-Lee CRAP!! Freaking amazing match. Quite possibly the best I have rolled in a year. THIS is what hold/counter-hold wrestling is all about. These 2 men put on an absolute clinic. Gama with 5 tokens, Gotch with 6. For every move a counter move, for every hold a counter hold. I lost count, but honestly am going to say over 30 reversals. In a rare display of sportsmanship, both men shook hands before and after the bout. Five Star rating to be sure!!
9: Main Event: Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant battle to a double CO.
Ok, another dud. Match starts, Andre takes control, Andre tosses Hogan from ring, both men brawl, referee counts, bell rings, match over... YAWN!!
