Welcome to the debut of Wildfire's Awesomely Random Tourament Series!
Here's what I did.... I took all the official FG cards I own, put them in a big pile, shuffled it, then rolled a d10 to move through the pile and select 8 guys for a tournament! The winner and runner up will say, the rest go back into the pile for some future time.... sorta a little like Jason's Power Series, only quick and random instead of planned and epic
Actually played this last night, but was too tired to post. Anyway, without further ado...
1st Round:
Eddie Kingston* def. Archibald Peck* by DQ
Kingston dominated early, but Marchie Archie stormed back, and looked like he may have a shot to take it, until he got caught using his baton as a weapon.
One Man Gang** def. Mil Mascaras by DQ
Tough draw here, as the two strongest of the field have to face off in the 1st round. Mascaras put on a high flying clinic, but went to the well once too often, plowing through the referee to cause the DQ
Roderick Strong def. Dustin Lee (Stronghold)
Total squash for Roddy... he looks like a lock to get to the finals.
Tom Pritchard* def. Kobold* (Flying Body Press)
Pritchard seemed a bit taken aback but Kobold's.. unusual style and appearance, but got over it quickly to outwrestle him for the win.
Semi-Finals
Eddie Kingston def. One Man Gang*** (Backfist to the Future)
Kingston seemed to have no chance here, but gamely took the fight to OMG, and had the crowd on their feet as he knocked the big man to the mat with a amazing lariat. Gang never really recovered, and Eddie it through to the finals!
Roderick Strong def. Tom Pritchard (Side Backbreaker)
Pritchard had nothing for the former RoH champ... Strong looks.. well. strong, going into the finals.
3rd Place Match:
Tom Pritchard def. One Man Gang*** (Foreign Object)
Pritchard takes the consolation match in what has to be considered a huge upset. This one went back and forth quite a bit, with Pritchard surprisingly taking Gang's best shots and fighting through them. He had to resort to ilegal tactics in the end, but can you blame him?
Finals!!
Eddie Kingston** def. Roderick Strong*** (Backfist to the Future)
Great match, definitely the best of the night, which could have easily gone either way. Kingston will definitely have a sore back this morning, but he was able to stay away from the Stonghold and knock Strong into next week for the victory.
